This track has been relatively long in the making, even to my standards. It's about getting back to enjoying simple things like being outside with friends, enjoying each others company and a campfire with some guitar music, no smartphones, no photos, just sitting your ass down in the sand and watch the evening strech into the night and morning.
This, by the way, is also the basis of my company Larger Than Life's philosophy.
Enjoy this single - my first release in almost eight years - which should give you a tiny little peek into some of the sound and atmosphere of the double album I've been working on since 2015.
lyrics
Larger, larger, larger than life
Larger, larger, larger than life
We've never been so free, it's the twenty-first century
For the best part of the week no-one tells you to move your feet
There's so many songs to hear, so many movies you have to see
And you don't even have to leave
We've come a long dark road from the caves to our happy homes
And we gently close the door, turn the lights and the TV on
But somewhere deep inside you're yearning to dream by the fireside
Where the moon and the stars tell you why
You could be larger, larger, larger than life
Larger, larger, larger than life
Larger, larger, larger than life
So call on all your friends, meet them on the riverside
Escape the city beat, leave all of that stuff behind
You could play a silly game: dare to be true and forget your shame
Close your eyes and dance in the rain
Take a run outside (away)
You don't need to hide (all day)
Feel that sweeter air (it's real)
Running through your hair (it's free)
Keep your merry feet (bare skin)
On the grassy leaves (feeling whole again)
Feel the sun upon your face
Life is not a human race
Feel that summer breeze (take it all inside)
Everything is easier (let it clear your mind)
Life is so much larger outside
You'll see the kindness in mankind
Larger, larger, larger than life
Larger, larger, larger than life
Larger, larger, larger than life
Larger, larger, larger than life
